In Hays County, the convergence of drought, heat, fires, and rampant growth has plunged our communities into a water scarcity crisis, impacting every resident. The recent state legislation has further strained local control over development, especially in Precinct 3, which has vast unincorporated areas vulnerable to unsustainable growth. It’s imperative that development aligns with environmental responsibility, preserving both our water and green spaces. Additionally, a keen focus on fiscal responsibility ensures that Hays County resources are used efficiently for the betterment of all its citizens.

It's All About Water

Drought. Heat. Fires. Combined with unbridled growth, our very communities are in crisis now. Every single citizen in Hays County has been affected by the scarcity of water.

Development

Recent legislation at the state level has resulted in less local control for cities and the County. Precinct 3 includes the largest unincorporated spaces in Hays County and is most vulnerable to unsupportable development. It’s important that the Commissioners’ Court uses all available tools to ensure that any development is supported in an environmentally responsible way.

Preserving our limited resources (WATER and GREEN SPACE) is crucial to the sustainability of our Hill Country landscape. Development needs to be aggressively managed to ensure that we maintain the quality of life that we all treasure.

Fiscal Responsibility & Efficiency

Stewardship of the county’s financial resources is essential. Spending valuable taxpayer dollars responsibly and ensuring that we are preparing for the future with the technology and staff go hand-in-hand.
